October 2020 saw the first Global Bird Weekend.  Thousands of participants, as diverse as the countries they represented and the bird species they recorded, joined in the event. The community continues to grow.

A century ago, visionary conservationists concerned about the plight of the world’s birds and the wider environment came together to form an international movement. Rooted in the foundations of a handful of campaigning national organisations, it steadily gathered momentum, spread its wings and eventually evolved into BirdLife International, the world’s largest partnership for nature. Join Patricia Zurita (CEO of BirdLife International) and Richard Grimmett (BirdLife’s Director of Conservation) to hear about the incredible history of the BirdLife Partnership. We will also introduce this year’s sponsored project to restore Laguna de la Janda in Andalucía.

Dan Bass, Hannah Needham and Samantha Skinner, 3 early career rewilders will share their views on the meaning of rewilding with Paul Jepson, author “Rewilding: The Radical New Science of Ecological Recovery”
