Peter Harrison’s SEABIRDS: The New Identification Guide—a comprehensive field guide to the world’s 434 species of Seabirds—has also been produced in a large-format boxed collectors’ edition with a global, numbered print run of just 1,000 copies. This larger format allows for the beauty and execution of the book’s 239 art plates—featuring more than 3,800 full-colour figures—to be fully appreciated and studied. As Peter has devoted much of his adult life to supporting habitat restoration programs, he has decided that a portion of the proceeds from this collectors’ edition will be dedicated to seabird conservation around the world. As such, Peter has named this book, the Conservation Edition. This 600-page book measures 22.5 x 31 cm (9 x 12 inches) and is autographed by Peter Harrison, along with co-author Dr Martin Perrow and contributing artist Hans Larsson.

This textile landscape is entirely made from recycled natural fabrics which are hand dyed, and hand stitched with natural threads. The fabrics included vintage linen, silk, and cotton, hand dyed with weld, oak, woad, and walnut, the natural dyes of the Bayeux Tapestry.
The thread is vintage silk, the backing is
cotton sheet and it has a filling layer of sustainable bamboo wadding.
So much of our world today, and that includes creative textile and artwork, is plastic based when there are many versatile natural and sustainable alternatives

Plastic is one of the biggest pollution threats to our oceans. This abstract landscape is a
hand dyed and hand stitched artwork made using only plastic materials. The colourful background is
constructed entirely from wet-wipes dyed with synthetic acrylic dyes, and the thread is polyester.
The shoreline scene includes some real shells and these are woven in using plastic found on the
strandline of a nature reserve – showing that nowhere is safe from plastic pollution.
The edging border is a woven plastic feed sack and the piece backed with polyester fabric and a
polyester wadding.

Discover birding destinations in Brazil’s "Amazonias," highlighting endemic species, unique interfluvial regions, and key centres of endemism
Join New Zealand’s pioneering, family-owned and operated expedition cruise company on the ultimate birding voyage and Subantarctic adventure!
Discover the 'Albatross Latitudes' and explore the world's most remote Subantarctic islands including Snares, Bounty, Antipodes, Auckland, Campbell, and Macquarie Islands, as well as the Chatham Islands and its outlying islands. The islands occupy the tempestuous latitudes of the Roaring Forties and the Furious Fifties, but they are also known as the Albatross Latitudes and with good reason. Ten of the world's albatross species breed in the region; five of them nowhere else but here including the Antipodean Albatross!
In fact, this zone where the air is never still hosts the most diverse collection of seabirds in the world. More than 40 species breed here - that is at least 11 per cent of the entire world's seabird population.
This expedition has huge appeal to pelagic enthusiasts, penguin fanatics and those interested in island endemics. Though you do not have to be a keen birder to enjoy this voyage. People interested in islands and island ecology, botany, geology, and photographers all enjoy this voyage immensely, as have those interested in the history of Southern Ocean discovery and exploration.
Heritage Expeditions is the world’s most experienced Southern Ocean operator and have been exploring the Subantarctic Islands with their like-minded for more than 35 years ensuring you will benefit from our unrivalled knowledge and expertise of the region.
